Lisa McKnett is an artist whose roots in realism and impressionism are clearly reflected in her unique style.

Mastering a variety of mediums, Lisa's genre includes portraits, still life, mountain, sea and desert scenes. She specializes in portrait art for the equestrian and animal lover.

Lisa attended Boise State University where she was awarded an art scholarship. Lisa studied fine art and illustration at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. At the Art Center she was fortunate to have been under the tutelage of John Asaro, Dan McCaw, Harry Carmean, and Craig Nelson, whose works are highly sought.

For the next four years, Lisa continued her studies at the highly esteemed California Art Institute in Calabasas, California. While there, Lisa was fortunate to have studied with Neil Boyle, David Jonas, Bobbie Moline Krammer, Karen Martin, Glenn Orbik and Sean Zents, and Hall of Fame artist, Ron McKee.

Lisa has received numerous honors from the Pen Women of American for teaching, has lectured on the topic of fine art and illustration, and has been the featured artist at symposiums. As a result of her knowledge and experience, Lisa has judged the Annual Interfaith Show of Thousand Oaks, California and prepared the annual Westlake art shows.

Lisa has taught fine art and illustration at two private institutions of learning, receiving the award for most favorite art teacher for the Junior and High School. Her motto, "Love learning, and never stop learning about art", has endeared her to her students.

For the past twenty-five years Lisa has been active in her local Art Guilds including various one woman shows coordinated by the Westlake Village Art Guild. She has participated in many prestigious art shows, receiving numerous first place honors. Lisa placed first for the month of December Calendar for the Westlake Art Guild. Lisa has exhibited at the annual Thousand Oaks Art Walk. Lisa loves to donate her time exhibiting with other notable artists in the community, to raise money for the Wellness Community.

After moving to Rancho Santa Fe, Lisa has continued to stay current with her training at the Jeff Watts Atelier in Encinitas, California, studying with Arts for the Parks award winner Jeff Watts, and Marty Davis, whose sculpture has been commissioned worldwide. Lisa’s mantra is, "Learning is continual in becoming a master of the arts."

Lisa is a native of Sun Valley, Idaho, and currently resides with her husband Charles, CEO of D4 Networks, and her son, Matthew, who will be attending Harvey Mudd College in September 2004. When not in her studio, Lisa can be found riding her Grand Prix Dressage horse, Carlos.
