19 - Fuchsia, Gladiolas and Cake

My signature pieces would have to include my floral still life studies.  I have been mostly influenced by the instructors I have painted with including the late Myrna McKee, Karen Martin and my first teacher at the California Art Institute Dottie Knight who made us all believe our efforts would eventually pay off. Here I cut my bent fuchsia gladiolas in the Springtime, painted them in my favorite Mikasa pressed swirled vase. I baked my husband's favorite yellow cake with chocolate frosting, a couple of  chilled glasses of Eiswein,  and his favorite flowers yellow mums.
